A man in Kershaw County has been arrested after he tried to sexually assault a resident in a nursing home. The man was an acquaintance of the victim.

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, SC (WIS) – A Kershaw County man is in jail after authorities say he entered a nursing home and tried to sexually assault a 56-year-old woman.

According to Fairfield County Sheriff’s Department Captain Brad Douglas, 54-year-old Morris Rosley Nelson went to Fairfield Healthcare Center in Ridgeway last Wednesday and attempted to have intercourse with the woman when an employee walked in.

“It’s disturbing to everyone including us in law enforcement,” said Douglas. “Fortunately, we don’t see it a lot.”

The women, who worked as certified nursing assistants at Pigeon Forge Care and Rehabilitation Center, were indicted in September 2009 after the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation determined they took photos of numerous elderly patients, some dating to 2007.

‘The nature of these offenses were so shocking, reprehensible and offensive,’ said Vance prior to… continue reading
